HOW TO LEARN DIFFICULT SUBJECT FAST: A STUDENT GUIDE

When confronting a difficult or new topic do you spend a lot of time? or you just skip while accepting your fate? Here’s a method that will help you make it easy.

The FEYNMAN TECHNIQUE

The Feynman Technique is a 4 step model to efficiently understand almost anything. This technique is named after Richard Feynman a Nobel Prize winning physicist and famous teacher for his ability to explain complex ideas in the most simple form.

This will help you to make the most out of your time, understand any concepts or topics that you don’t really get and to clearly remember anything you want.

STEP 1
Get a paper and write the topic you want to learn.

Lets say you want to learn the ACCOUNTING EQUATION

STEP 2
Read and Explain the topic

According to Investopedia “Accounting equation displays that all assets are either financed by borrowing money or paying with the money of the companies shareholders. Thus accounting equation is: Assets= Liabilities + Shareholder Equity.”

What you have to do is dissect this information and dig deeper by making different situation or relate the equation to your real life experiences. The key to make this possible is to imagine yourself explaining the concept to a student.

STEP 3
Read the concept again if you still can’t explain it.

Most of the time this will happen, so you need to identify the part that made it hard explaining the concept. Don’t stop until you can fully explain the topic. Then repeat STEP 2

STEP 4
Make a simplified conclusions

After fully understanding the topic make a sentence explaining the concept in the simplest way.  This goes well in the quote “If you cant explain it simply then you don’t understand it well enough”

My simplest answer:
“Accounting equation is like you. The SHE is your skills and achievements while liabilities are your failures and frustrations. And both of them makes up your asset, your life.”

How to know you fully understand the concept?
Explain the concept without the help of your book or materials.

This is the easiest way to learn anything fast and you should start now!
